Infrared view of planeTechnical Sales: The accelerated deployment of ERP, CAE and Knowledge Management software is growing the demand for technical sales professionals. The effective marketing of these types of products requires sales professionals who possess the ability to communicate "process-centric" concepts at a high level across many different disciplines and organizations. TriLink is continually seeking experienced sales people who can execute this type of technical sale through considering the customer's business process, understanding their needs, formulating value-based solutions, building customer support and obtaining a purchase order.

Mechanical CAE / Computer Simulation: At an increasing pace, product manufacturers are striving to reduce time-to-market while maintaining or improving product quality and reliability. This puts an increasing demand on engineering organizations to deploy computer aided engineering (CAE) tools for predicting product performance. This expertise comprises the productive use of techniques like finite element analysis (FEA), boundary element analysis (BEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), Multi-Objective Optimization and other mathematical modeling techniques.

Structural Dynamics: Experts in this field are typically involved in optimizing stiffness and weight characteristics of structures, "de-tuning" excitation frequencies from structural response frequencies, and correlating finite element models. This expertise comprises techniques like experimental modal analysis (EMA), operating deflection shape analysis (ODS), normal mode analysis, and static stiffness determination.

SAT testNoise, Vibration & Harshness: This field, coined "NVH" by the automotive industry, is comprised of acoustics, structural dynamics, sound quality, ride dynamics, and system modeling experts. The automotive industry utilizes NVH Engineers in a variety of development activities relating to interior, powertrain, suspension and body systems. NVH Engineers are frequently employed in test labs, analysis groups, and design/development departments.

Acoustics: This field involves prediction, measurement, and/or optimization of acoustical fields. TriLink works with employers looking for acoustic engineers to optimize product sound levels and acoustical treatment packages based upon customer requirements, competitive products, and cost. Applicable tools include sound intensity, acoustic holography, impedance modeling, boundary element modeling, and binaural sound quality analysis.

F18 dropFatigue / Durability Testing and Development: Experts in this field are striving to verify that new product designs will be durable and reliable. Early on in the design process this typically involves using mathematical models to simulate stress/strain and predict fatigue life. At later stages, the test lab is employed to confirm fatigue life and to validate designs based upon realistic representations of the product's service life. Tools used by experts in this field include finite element modeling, fatigue life solvers, FMEA, MTBF, component block cycle testing, road/flight simulation tests, and combined-environment simulation including vibration, humidity and temperature.

Test / Analysis Integration: As industry uses more numerical models to predict product performance, there is a need to assure these models are accurate. This technology also yields long term insight about how to improve modeling procedures. One tool used in the context of Test / Analysis integration is finite element analysis correlation with test data. TriLink regularly works with candidates with expertise in finite element analysis correlation based upon either natural frequencies and mode shapes, or, frequency-response functions.

Product Data Management and Knowledge-Based Engineering: Product Data Management (PDM) is the practice of maintaining a broad range of technical design information and making this data readily available to the organization. PDM enables new levels of productivity through providing a technical communication framework that manufacturers use to more closely partner with their suppliers. Generally, the internet provides the backbone for PDM systems which help manage a product over its life cycle. Knowledge-Based Engineering (KBE) is a system intended to maintain and exercise engineering rules in order to move toward automating the design and development process. Both KBE and PDM may be viewed as frameworks for retaining "organizational memory" relating to engineering and manufacturing processes and they help companies to manage change.
